Résumé : | Aztreonam appears to an effective antibiotic in the treatment of gram-negative lower respiratory tract infections. This agent may prove particularly useful as a non-toxic alternative in patients who cannot tolerate aminoglycosides or are allergic to penicillins. However, combination with an anti-gram positive agent is to be recommended in order to prevent the emergence of pneumococcal and staphylococcal infections during therapy. |
