Résumé : In our first approach to the study of pin reactions, we selected skin reaction as the indicator of the evolution, arbitrarily deciding that osteolysis was the ultimate, irreversible complication. It appeared, however, that our first protocol was inappropriate for obtaining a more basic understanding of the pin-soft tissues behavior. We then developed a more sophisticated protocol. It is possible to establish a gradient of anchorage (of statistical value) between the different bones. It seems that the quality of the anchorage decreases slightly with the duration of implantation.
