Résumé : The effect of uniaxial anisotropy on the pattern selection mechanisms in driven systems is discussed within the framework of amplitude equations for the order parameter-like variable. It is shown, in a case where the dynamics admits a Lyapunov functional, how polygonal patterns are destabilized for constant and time-dependent anisotropy. © 1987.
