Résumé :

2,3-dimethyl-d-lyxose (VIII m.p. 116-117°) has been synthesised from lyxose according to "Schéma A" p. 254. and its structure confirmed by oxidation with periodic acid. The product obtained by degradation of 3,4-galactosamine with ninhydrin has been shown to be indistinguishable, by paper chromatography, from synthetic 2,3-dimethyl-d-lyxose. © 1957.
