Résumé : This article revisits the 4 underlying principles of bioethics (autonomy, doing good, not doing harm and fairness). It then approaches some of the special aspects which are faced by obstetricians: genetic testing, conflicts in value judgements between treatment of the individual and community medicine, informed consent and the problem of eugenics. © 2011 Springer-Verlag France.
