Résumé : A continuous EEG recording device (Oxford Medical System) was utilized in 158 patients with overt epileptic seizures and atypical fits of questionable origin. This technique proved a valuable tool in assessing EEG paroxysmal activity. The validity of the results is discussed and emphasis is laid on the numerous pitfalls and obvious limitations of the method which do not allow a temporal correlation between EEG findings and clinical events. © 1982 Elsevier Biomedical Press, Amsterdam.
