Résumé : This study presents the principal differences of treatment of muds of water-treatment plants by the processes appealing to the cremation and to the oxidation by wet way (OWW). Having reviewed the physico-chemical basic differences of these two processes, the behavior of muds during these treatments is analyzed. One notices these differences as on the circles reéactionnels as on the operated mechanisms. These essential differences echo on balances subject and energy, so on the quantities and the qualities of the formed by-products, what justifies completely so fundamentally different economic and environmental approaches.
