Résumé : This paper provides an interpretation of the philosophy of History developed by Fichte in the Characteristics of the present age (1804-1805), trying to reconstruct the different steps of the speculative foundation of the universal plan of History (Weltplan), starting from the metaphysical propositions of the ninth lecture. The reading attempts to reveal the determinations of the concept of History (reflexivity, factuality, vocation of humanity), in order to show how freedom is the final principle of the Weltplan's necessity and realisation.
