Résumé : Thorium in solution is measured by the tracks of a-particles, -formed from RdTh, in nuclear photographic emulsions. Using the method described, it is possible; to detect RdTh in equilibrium with 10-9 g Th, contained in a volume of several hundrcdths of a millilitre, in the presence of all the other stähle or radioactive nuclides. The accuracy is chiefly limited by the statistical fluctuations of the number of disintegrations; the experimental errors are in the order of ±3%. The method has heen checked on standard solutions. The experimental techniques, diffusion of thoron, and interference of RdAc, are discussed in detail. © 1957.
