Résumé : | Guanine is taken up by resting yeast and is very rapidly transformed into xanthine. The xanthine then leaves the cells and appears in the medium. This transformation continues until a dynamic equilibrium is established between guanine and xanthine. Part of the nucleic acid guanine is readily replaced by exogeneous free guanine, probably by a direct exchange reaction. © 1958. |
