Résumé : Thermodynamic data on acetyl, tosyl and methyl substituents attached ona cyclohexane ring have been obtained by NMR spectroscopy, using a modification of Eliel's method. Enthalpies and entropies have been determined using a van't Hoff plot of log K versus 1/T. The entropies have been found non-negligible and depending, in sign and magnitude on the nature of the substituent. Moreover, influence of solvatation or association on the values of ΔH and ΔS has been observed. Discussion of the reliability of the method used shows that values found for the conformational free enthalpy, enthalpy and entropy terms are experimentally significant. © 1966.
