Résumé : In recent work of Progogine et al., a generalized transformation theory in terms of superoperators has been developed. In the case of non-dissipative systems, i.e. systems such that all transitions have a finite non-vanishing energy, this theory should reduce to the usual unitary transformations of quantum mechanics. The equation for the transformation superoperator χ-1 is solved in the form of a series, which is then compared in the non-dissipative case to the Wigner-Brillouin perturbation series. The two series, although highly dissimilar at first sight, are nevertheless shown to be equivalent. © 1971.
