Résumé : If procedures which destroy the knee joint now lead to spectacular recovery and restoration of bed ridden patients to their feet, one must not resolve to replace the knee joint by a prosthesis as a last resort and to let the moment pass when conservative and corrective surgery, such as osteotomy, is still possible.
