Résumé : The formation of long cytoplasmic extrusions has been observed in rat glial tumor cells after doses of 120, 300 and 600 R. This probably results from the assembly of microtubules, since colchicine prevents it; moreover ultrastructural examination of the processes confirms the presence of microtubules and microfibrils. During the 3 days following a 300 or 600 R irradiation, i.e., at the time when cytoplasmic extrusions appear, autoradiography shows that DNA and RNA syntheses are strongly inhibited, while protein synthesis is stimulated. The significance of these results is discussed.
