Résumé : Two cases of vascular obstruction following the use of anovulatory agents are presented. In 1 case an obstruction of the central retinal artery led to unilateral blindness in a 29 yr old woman. In a second case, obstruction of the posterior cerebral artery caused a definitive homonymous hemianopsia. Studies on the action of oral contraceptives have shown that the number of thromboembolic phenomena increase with the dose of estrogen administered. The new biphasic formula with a minimal dose during one part of the cycle seems to give a maximum guarantee.
