Résumé : The authors present a new case of bacteremia by Shigella flexneri 2a, that appeared in an undernourished child. A review of the literature shows that invasion into the blood stream by Shigella remains a possible complication, although rare, with dysentery. Il is also undeniable that any change in one's constitution such as a debilitating illness, fatigue or malnutrition plays an important role in the appearance of a bacteremia or septicemia by Shigella. © 1976.
