Résumé : Traces the evolution of urban conditions in Cameroun since 1960, as an introduction to possible future changes. Stresses the diversity of types of urban development within the country and the impact of several colonial systems. Regional structures, types of urbanization and their demography, recent urban trends by ecological region, and likely implications of improved transport systems are reviewed in turn. -H.Clout
