Résumé : A study was made of the long-term results of treatment of avascular necrosis of the femoral head using pulsed electromagnetic fields in 19 patients with 29 necroses of the femoral head and two of the femoral condyles. Lesions were evaluated systematically by radiographic examination, CT scan, MRI, and scintigraphy. The results at 3 years and 5 years (mean: 58 months) were compared with other published series in the literature. The statistical analysis showed highly significant differences for Ficat states II and III and the results were considered satisfactory.
