Résumé : The paper develops a hypothesis to explain how bone tissue responds to mechanical force and weightlessness. The hypothesis explains this translation mechanism by the electromechanical properties of bone and a possible substitution of the mechanical stress by electromagnetic fields. Because of the specificity of the induced electrical parameters on the cellular response, it is premature to experiment the existent induction patterns as preventive treatment of the demineralization in weightlessness. To define active electric stimulation, the differences in local bone stresses between bone submitted to normal gravity condition and to weightlessness and their consequences on electric potential variations have to first be determined.
