Résumé : Four species of Sabicea Aublet (Rubiaceae) are present in São Tomé (République démocratique de São Tomé et Príncipe, gulf of Guinea): S. ingrata K.Schum., S. exellii G.Taylor, S. insularis (Wernham) G.Taylor and S. thomensis Joffroy. A principal component analysis undertaken for these species using morphological characters of herbarium specimens shows that S. insularis and S. ingrata cannot be easily separated. As a result the new combination S. ingrata var. insularis (Wernham) Joffroy is made. Distribution maps and an identification key for the four taxa of Sabicea in São Tomé are presented. Relations between São Tomé taxa and species of continental Africa are also discussed.
