| Résumé : | The Commission was late in presenting its price proposals and subsidiary steps for 1997198. The reason is mainly that budget decisions that regulate the Community farming policy were taken only at the end of January 1997. On June 25th, the Board settled the prices and the subsidiary steps for 1997/98: Apart from a number of relatively minor points, the Board merely extended the situation that prevailed in 1996/97, and postponed to next fall the problem of the reduction of subsidies for cereals. Many decisions will have to be taken quickly. They deal in particuler with olive oil, wine, tobacco and hard wheat. |
