Résumé : Two species of the genus Merremia, both native of tropical America, are cited for the first time for the flora of Benin: M. cissoides (Lam.) Hallier f. and M. quinquefolia (L.) Hallier f. A key to the nine species actually known from Benin is given. For the genus Merremia in Benin, these new introductions are the only species characterized by compound palmate leaves. This paper is the first of Notulae Florae Beninensis.
