Résumé : Preference modelling often uses concents such as preorders, semiorders and interval orders and, in most cases, it is assumed that the relations are comolete (no incomparability). However, incomparabilities naturally appear in many decision problems, as for example, in multicriteria problems. That is the reason why the study of partial relations becomes more and more important. In this paper, we Propose a definition of partial interval order which extends the concent of interval order, which is compatible with a numerical representation and which is defined by properties very easy to verify. © 1984.
