Résumé : Facing the reorganization of psychiatric and mental health care networks, the involved professionals have to clarify their position in the field of public health. Several issues are discussed : differences between in-patient and out-patient facilities, between social and health fields, and differences in the multidisciplinary mental health team. A closer definition of the philosophy, the missions and the limits of each specific profession, facility and field, would allow to base a mental health policy on effective collaborations initiated by the professionals themselves.
