Résumé : Several riots took place in Naples' suburbs between december 2007 and the the last months of 2008. During that period citizens showed their disapproval toward the dumps' localization plan developed by the political authorities to face the waste emergency. In this research we wanted to examine the social relations which enabled riots. In fact, in the case of Campania the main aspect concerned the linkage between the spatial management of waste and the spatial management of populations. In this context, the relation between territory and population as a field of exercise of the modern power is absolutely clear; citizens carried out a strong resistance against the neoliberal discourse. This ethnographic study aimed at analyzing the rebellion in Pianura, which took place between December 2007 and January 2009 when Naples' streets were covered with rubbish. It was a violent protest involving some 40000 people who wanted to object to the reopening of the old dump of Pianura, one of the most toxic in Europe and no longer in use. The fear for their own life, the desperation of local population, and the hanger after being attacked by the police during pacific protest gave origin to a real urban guerrilla targeting the political system. Rebels occupied the west outskirt of Naples for a long time, taking control of the area and building barricades. Moreover, among those who took part to riots (women, young people, and old people) there were many Hooligans. Indeed, in Naples as in many other cities in Italy, they are increasingly committed in social struggles against the dominant idea of economic and political development
