Résumé : A systematic search has been used to find all the allowed valence structures of the D6d bicapped hexagonal antiprismatic BH142- closo-boron hydride dianion. From the number of allowed valence structures (72), a valence state index (VSI) equal to 0.0773 can be deduced for the tetradecahydrotetradecaborate dianion, that is compared to those of the parent BnHn2- derivatives (n = 6-12). © 1988.
