Résumé : The pseudoternary system BaO-ZrO2-MoOx (where x = 0, 2, 3) was studied in reducing and oxidizing conditions in the temperature range 1200°C-1600°C. In oxidizing conditions (pO2 > 10-4 atm), BaO reacts preferably with MoO3 giving Mo6+ compounds such as BaMoO4, Ba2MoO5 and Ba3MoO6 in equilibrium with ZrO2, BaZrO3, Ba3Zr2O7 and Ba2ZrO4 as a function of the composition. In reducing conditions (pO2<10-20atm), Mo0 is formed so that BaO reacts preferably with ZrO2 giving the perovskite Ba(Zr1-x Mox)O3 which can be in equilibrium with the Mo4+ compound Ba(Mo1-yZry)O3 at 1200°C and with the Mo6+ compound Ba3MoO6 at higher temperature so that Mo0, Mo4+ and Mo6+ compounds can coexist in equilibrium.
