Résumé : Louis Deroubaix was professor of human anatomy in the "Université Libre de Bruxelles" between 1841 and 1894. He founded the museum of human anatomy and created outstanding dissections, still presently in use. He was also surgeon, and developed new technics and original instrumentation. He was elected rector of the University, and consacrated himself to social medicine, even though he received a lot of academic hounours.
