Résumé : This paper reports the influence of the effect of thermal pre-treatments performed near room temperature (aging) and near, but below, T//g(annealing) on the mechanical behavior of polycarbonate (PC). Aging was found to have no effect on the yield stress, even after three years, but altered the shape of the stress-strain curve and, in particular, reduced the deformation at yield. Annealing affected mainly the yield stress. A correlation may be established between yielding and enthalpy relaxation, while yielding and volume decrease produced by annealing do not appear to be related.
