Résumé : An investigation conducted in several transplant centers of Europe and USA shows that kidney transplantation is the least expensive therapy of end stage chronic renal failure. It is the only treatment that allows complete familial, social and vocational rehabilitation. The main limiting factor of kidney transplantation is the insufficient number of cadaver organs. Many potential donors are lost because they are not reported to transplant teams by doctors in charge. Consequently, besides the information of the public laymen, doctors should also be motivated because their collaboration with transplant centers is of utmost importance.
