Résumé : | We demonstrate experimentally the existence of single-component multihump spatial solitons in a dye-doped nematic liquid-crystal planar cell. Besides, both the low absorption obtained at the working wavelength of 890 nm and an almost saturated regime of the reorientational nonlinearity allow us to observe soliton propagation over lengths in the centimeter range. © 2004 Elsevier B.V.
