Résumé : This report summarises results obtained from a feasibility study of field ion microscopy (FIM) with steel samples provided by OCAS. Furthermore, we give a literature survey on atom-probe (AP) techniques and their impact on materials analysis in general. Some examples will be cited which are considered to be relevant in the application of atom-probe field ion microscopy (APFIM) to solve materials and metallurgical problems.
