Résumé :

The isolation and full evidence for the structure of lemnalactone (1) and 7‐epi‐lemnalactone (2) are reported. Spectroscopic evidence which led to this reinvestigation is presented, and the structural conclusions therefrom are confirmed by a single crystal X‐ray study of a derivative of 2. The previous structure for lemnalactone (as 2) has led to several erroneous stereochemical assignments in the literature and these are here corrected. Copyright © 1979 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
