Résumé : Optimal control theory has been employed to populate a dark state of the acetylene polyad N s =1, N r = 5 at J=30 by indirect coupling via the ground state starting from a distribution of rotationalstates of the ground state. Relevant level energies and transition dipole moments are extracted from theexperimental literature. The optimal pulse is rather simple. The evolution of the populations isshown for the duration of the control process and also for the field free-evolution that follows thecontrol. The dark state appears to be a potential target for realistic experimental investigation becausethe average population of the Rabi oscillation remains high and decoherence is expected to be weak.
