Résumé : The authors present the case of a young tetraplegic with an incomplete level of lesion located in C 6 who suffered, five years after his accident, from an acute state of autonomous hyper-reflectivity caused by a ureteral abscess. Although he showed in the past some vesico-sphincteral troubles, he never suffered such an acute complication. The authors believe that the use of intoxicating liquors, loosening in discipline and emotional disturbance were partly responsible for this phenomenon. They discuss the connection between this acute state of hyper-reflectivity and the factors that brought it. They advocate the use of the peri-sphincteral infiltration as an adequate treatment to relieve the patient.
