Résumé : Stress has been put upon the importance of the elderly's environment and on their belongings which bind them to it. One can try to define the aged in the present context but it must not be forgotten when planning new dwellings and specific services that the elderly's identity evolves. Housing occupied by the elderly in Belgium is uncomfortable. The usual solutions proposed to the aged are discussed according to their psychological and socioeconomic status. The necessity of building integrated dwellings seems the most worthy idea because of its duplication on a smaller scale of normal society.
