Résumé : The spring species Pterostichus oblongopunctatus is active both in the soil and at the surface; the activity of the dominant species Abax ater is highest at the surface but gradually decreases with increasing soil depth; the autumnal Carabus and Cychrus species are almost exclusively active at the surface. In some species females were more active deep in the soil. -from Author
