Résumé : The author had the occasion to see a case of intrathoracic kidney bringing the number of such cases to 53. The necessity of a complete workup, including intravenous urography, and aortography is stressed, thus preventing an unnecessary thoracotomy. Treatment may be considered in newborn cases with respiratory symptoms. The author discusses the pathogeny that one must search in the embryogenesis of the diaphragm and of the kidney. It is improbable that the kidney can be found in the pleural cavity.
