Résumé : Psychiatric emergency in pediatric hospitals concerns two main activity sectors: the ward service and the in-patient sector. The child psychiatrist's role in emergency activity is simultaneously limited and global, complementary and necessary, active and thought, rapid and differed, individual and systemic, personal and institutional. These situations, difficult to manage are analysed and discussed in this study.
