Résumé : The Eikonal distorted wave theory is applied to the inelastic scattering of electrons and protons by atoms at intermediate energies. Absorption effects are explicitly taken into account in the optical potentials describing elastic scattering in the initial and final channels. Detailed numerical calculations are performed for the excitation of the n=2 states of atomic hydrogen.
