Résumé : The relative solvation of the ground and the excited states corresponding to the n → π# UV transition of carbonyl chromophores is determined, for a serie of solvents, on the basis of (1) the value of ΔE=hν, (2) the solvation enthalphy of the ground state determined by calorimetry, (3) the enthalpy of cavity formation. The importance of the last contribution is emphasized. © 1976.
