Résumé : Intense stimulation of the synthesis of both histone and non-histone chromatin proteins, and of nuclear proteins extractable in 0.1 M Tris-HCl pH 7.5 in 0.14 M NaCl, has been shown to accompany the stimulatory effect of erythropoietin upon the synthesis of haemoglobin in disaggregated foetal mouse liver cultured in vitro. The stimulation of chromatin protein synthesis parallels an increase in DNA synthesis. Histone and acidic chromatin protein synthesis is usually equally affected at cell concentrations of 2 × 106, but changes in culture conditions, notably in cell density, tend to differentially alter the responses as well as modifying the degree of effect at the DNA level. © 1971.
