Résumé : 1. 1. The synthesis of ribonucleic acid in the eggs of Batrachians is inhibited by DNP and usnate. 2. 2. The progressive decrease in the amount of free purine bases is not observed when the embryos are treated with DNP. 3. 3. The O 2 consumption of DNP-treated eggs is much increased compared with that of normal eggs. 4. 4. These observations confirm Brachet's hypothesis as to the role of the nucleus in the linkage of oxidations and oxidative phosphorylations. © 1953.
