Résumé : Inhibitors of coupling between oxidations and phosphorylations (dinitrophenol, Na usnate) induce in amoeba the same alterations as removal of the nucleus. In Batrachian eggs they induce an accumulation of ribonucleic acid in the nuclei, which is also typical of lethal hybrids between anurans. These results agree with the hypothesis that the cell nucleus plays a part in the coupling between oxidations and phosphorylations. © 1951 Birkhäuser Verlag.
