Résumé : We consider the institutional stakes linked to the child psychiatric and psychological interventions implemented for children hospitalized in paediatric units as well as for their parents. The aspects of financing, of territory and responsibility sharing between paediatricians and child psychiatrists, of compatibility of the two specialties' working philosophies, are developed. Two models are discussed: the setting up of a child psychiatric sector within the paediatric department, and the development of liaison child psychiatry from a psychiatric or child psychiatric unit. Generally speaking, it seems to us that a working framework, satisfying from the standpoint of the quality of the care implies an effort of definition of an institutional project clearly specifying the objectives and means of the child psychiatric activities in paediatrics.
