Résumé : Bacterial persisters consist of a phenotypic subpopulation that survives antibiotic treatment, prolonging infection. The GhoT toxin from the newly discovered ghoS-ghoT toxin-antitoxin system contributes to persistence, most likely by interfering with bacterial inner membrane integrity.
