Résumé : This paper presents the microgrid owned by Université libre de Bruxelles and its use to emulate the behavior of a real grid under different conditions. Different phenomena such as load changes, faults or power system oscillations can be observed thanks to measurement devices (protective relays, phasor measurement units (PMUs) and power quality meters). The experiments on the microgrid are used for teaching electrical engineering as well as hardware and software testing. By means of experimental results, the paper illustrates the use of the microgrid monitored by two PMUs. The recorded events show rotor angle stability, post-mortem analysis and power system restoration. © 2013 IEEE.
