Résumé : Preservation activities at the ULB (Brussels, Belgium)This session presents the preservation activities that are currently under development at the ULB both at logical-level and bit-level. While bit-level preservation activities basically aims at keeping bits identical in the long term future, logical-level preservation activities aims at ensuring that those bits will still be understandable in the future. Our logical-level preservation solution is developed on Archivematica. Our system is responsible for creating both DIPs that will be accessible through our diffusion repository and AIPs that will be preserved in our bit-level preservation repository. To illustrate a complete logical-level workflow, we will present the concrete case study of the creation of AIPs and DIPs for a digitized book collection submitted in the TIFF format. We will study in particular the DIP creation workflows that we are developing and which allows users to create an Internet Archive Book Reader version of the book. The second part of the session concerns our bit-level preservation solution based on LOCKSS. We will present our activities in developing a Private LOCKSS Network (PLN) and describe the concrete steps required to build such a network.
