Résumé : Nonionic N-isopropylarylamid (NIPA) gel was fixed by rapid freezing in three different structural states: at room temperature in the dry state and with two different degrees of swelling at room temperature and at ~35 0C After freeze-drying and thin Pt/C-coating the LVSEM reveal ed a smooth surface of the gel in the dry state and a sponge-like structure in the swollen states. Atomic force microscopic topographs of the uncoated dry gel agreed well with the LVSEM data of the coated dry gel.
