Résumé : As an approach for assessing the dynamics of bacterial population in aquatic environment, use is made of growth and mortality measurements both based on DNA labaling by tritiated thymidine. The consistency of both methods is demonstrated on basis of measurements obtained in marine and fresh water environments. The meaning of the data collected in a variety of aquatic environments is discussed in the light of a amplified model of bacterioplankton dynamics.
